To overcome the disadvantages of traditional teaching, and learning methods (where both teachers and students are physically present in the classroom) including laborious teaching efforts, and limited number of students’ capacity, Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has been provided by more than 70 providers including Coursera, MIT OpenCourseWare, openSAP, and Udacity. MOOC helps both teachers in revising state-of-the-art and students to learn from the best universities/schools in the world both teaching in terms of recording once and delivering the course repetitively with minor updates and learning by listening and watching same video repetitively until it has been learnt. In this workshop, the discussion will be about MOOC providers, their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and its verified certification methods. In addition, I will walk through one or two MOOCs in detail including registration, code of conduct, ToDos during course progress, weekly lab and exam, final exam, course completion certificate, and verified certificate given.
Course participation and certification from the top universities via MOOC enhances admission possibilities for higher study later on. The discussion will be followed by obligatory steps for higher study in abroad including country selection, test preparation, application, funding, scholarship, and visa processing.
